What are the kidneys?

The kidneys are two small bean-shaped organs located on either side of our spine, just below the ribcage. Although they are relatively small, their importance cannot be overstated.

The kidneys serve as vital filters, responsible for removing waste products and excess fluid from the bloodstream. Additionally, they help regulate electrolyte levels, blood pressure, and the production of red blood cells. In essence, the kidneys play a crucial role in maintaining the body's overall balance and functioning.
