Hi, my name is Jae. Today, I want to share my journey through kidney wellness.
It all started when I was just 12 years old. Looking back, there were signs that something wasn't quite right – excessive thirst, bedwetting at an older age, and even a sudden curve in my spine that led to scoliosis. Little did I know, this was the beginning of a long and challenging road.
Doctors discovered that I had Juvenile Nephronophthisis, a condition that had been silently developing since I was born. My bone density deteriorated rapidly, leading to emergency hip surgery and pins in both of my hips. Amidst all of this, kidney issues were also quietly taking their toll. Acute kidney failure struck suddenly, and I found myself struggling with shortness of breath and relentless vomiting. Emergency dialysis became my lifeline, and the journey to a kidney transplant began.
Transitioning from Hemodialysis to Peritoneal Dialysis brought some relief, and my mom's pregnancy made her unable to be my live donor. We were fortunate that a deceased donor came through sooner than expected, and I underwent a successful kidney transplant. For almost 15 years, that kidney served me well as I embraced my passion for art, taught myself traditional techniques, and pursued Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Entrepreneurship became my second nature, and life felt vibrant and full of promise.
But challenges returned when I became a mother to my beautiful daughter, Leilani. Focused on motherhood, I inadvertently put my health on the back burner. The pandemic further complicated matters, separating me from my mom during a critical time. A seizure due to high blood pressure marked a turning point, and my health spiraled downward. Medical decisions were made without my mom's full involvement, leading to acute kidney rejection.
My mom's unwavering strength became my guiding light as we navigated the tumultuous waters of kidney health. Countless nights were spent monitoring my blood pressure to prevent seizures, and my mom's resilience ensured that my daughter and I remained supported and loved.
Transplant evaluations came and went, some with disappointing outcomes. But now, armed with newfound knowledge and determination, we're exploring alternative therapies. Mito Organelle's Stem Cell Therapy by European Wellness offers a glimmer of hope. This innovative therapy has shown promise in repairing cell vitality, revitalizing organs, and regenerating bodily systems. Case studies have demonstrated remarkable improvements for end-stage renal patients, and this breakthrough research has given us a renewed sense of optimism.
Our journey to a kidney transplant continues, but the prospect of exploring alternative treatments has ignited a spark of hope within us. As we dive into this uncharted territory, I am determined to not only find healing for myself but also to raise awareness about these promising options. Together with my mom, we're navigating uncharted waters, eager to share our experiences and inspire others on their own paths to kidney wellness.
